At Travelin' Naturals, we believe aromatherapy should always be an invitation rather than an expectation. Every animal is unique, and their comfort should always guide the experience.
This space was created to share what I've learned through years of living with my own companions and exploring gentle, pet-conscious aromatherapy practices at home.

Understanding Shared-Space Aromatherapy
At Travelin' Naturals, we advocate thoughtful environmental use, observation, and allowing animals to choose their level of interaction with scent.
Rather than expecting animals to adapt to aromatherapy, we believe aromatherapy should adapt to the animals who share our homes. Good ventilation, gradual introductions, and careful observation help create an environment where both people and their companions can comfortably coexist.
Many animals comfortably share spaces where aromatherapy is enjoyed. The key is creating opportunities for choice. Some companions may choose to rest nearby, while others may prefer to move to another area of the home. Both responses provide valuable information.
Because every animal is unique, our approach focuses on shared-space aromatics rather than direct application. We believe animals should have the freedom to engage with, ignore, or move away from scent as they choose.
Our goal is never to overwhelm a space with fragrance, but to encourage mindful practices that support comfort, choice, and well-being.
A Bit More on Cat Aromatics
Cats deserve additional consideration when introducing aromatherapy into the home. Their bodies process many substances differently than humans and dogs, which is why observation, moderation, and choice are especially important with feline companions.
At Travelin' Naturals, we encourage a gentle approach. Introduce new aromas gradually, diffuse lightly, maintain good airflow, and always allow cats the freedom to leave the area if they choose. Their behavior often provides the most valuable information.
Some cats may show curiosity toward an aromatic environment by resting nearby, investigating a diffuser from a distance, or remaining comfortably in the room. Others may choose to move away, nap elsewhere, or simply ignore the scent altogether. All of these responses are worth respecting.
Blueberry has been one of my greatest teachers in this regard. Some mornings she chooses to remain nearby during my quiet rituals. Other days she's more interested in inspecting herbs, bottles, baskets, and whatever else catches her attention. Her responses remind me that every cat is an individual with their own preferences and comfort levels.
Rather than focusing on what cats should do, we believe their behavior should guide the experience. Observation, patience, and respect remain at the heart of every aromatic practice shared with feline companions.
